Some factors to be considered when purchasing a system include the rotor size, number of pistons, and the weight of the rotors.

Brake system manufacturers include Brembo, Stop Tech, Wilwood, AP Racing, and others.

Brembo brakes are standard issue on Ferrari, Porsche, and other premier performance brands (i.e. STi WRX and Lancer EVO VIII).

Sometimes Brembo uses kits from Super Cars like those that were original equipment on the Lotus Turbo Esprit and the Ferrari F40 & F50...cars with legendary braking performance. These kits include bigger calipers and floating-two piece rotors.

Wilwood are the brakes used by NASCAR.
